MealTraK — TERMS & CONDITIONS

MealTrak assists users in calculating per‑diem meal deductions and tracking trip activity. MealTrak does not provide tax advice, does not guarantee audit outcomes, and does not replace the mandatory recordkeeping required by tax authorities. Users are responsible for maintaining their own detailed logs, receipts, and supporting documentation as required by law.

1. Acceptance of Terms

  • By using MealTrak, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Use of the App

  • MealTrak provides tools for tracking trips and per‑diem calculations for professional drivers. You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes.

3. Account Requirements

  • A valid email address is required for login.

  • Cloud sync is required for functionality.

  • You are responsible for maintaining your login credentials.

4. Cloud Storage

  • MealTrak requires an internet connection and cloud storage to function. Essential trip data is stored in Firebase Cloud Firestore.
    We are not responsible for:
    - Firebase outages
    - Data loss caused by network issues
    - User‑initiated deletion

5. Data Retention

  • Cloud‑stored trip data is retained for up to 7 years to comply with CRA and IRS audit periods. After 7 years, this data is automatically purged.

  • Users may request deletion of their account or cloud data at any time.

  • Cancelled Subscriptions: Upon cancellation of a Premium subscription, your cloud data will be maintained for a period of 12 months from the date of expiry. If a subscription is not renewed within this twelve-month window, all cloud-stored trip history associated with the account will be permanently deleted.

  • MealTrak does not replace your tax requirement

6. Location Services

  • Location tracking is optional. When disabled, you must manually enter location information.

  • Manually entered location data is still stored in the cloud as part of the trip record.

7. Intellectual Property

  • MealTrak, its design, branding, and software are the property of MealTrak Technologies.

    You may not:
    - Reverse engineer
    - Decompile
    - Modify
    - Resell
    - Distribute the App or its assets

8. Limitation of Liability

  • MealTrak is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

    We are not liable for:
    - Loss of data
    - Incorrect per‑diem calculations
    - Financial loss
    - Service interruptions
    - Device issues

9. Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of Nova Scotia, Canada.

10. Changes to These Terms

  • We may update these Terms. Continued use of the App indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.
